Lolo came to APASA after the sad death of his previous owner. For many years, he knew the comfort of being a much-loved family dog - even sleeping on his owner’s bed - and suddenly finding himself in a shelter has been an enormous change.

Understandably, he can be a little shy when meeting someone new, but it doesn’t take him long to find his confidence. Once he feels comfortable, his affectionate and loyal nature shines through. He adores human company, loves cuddles and would always choose to be close to his people rather than left on his own.

Lolo enjoys his walks and behaves beautifully on the lead. He has lived as part of a family before and, according to his previous owners, was very good with children. Although information from his former home suggests he may prefer to be the only dog, at the shelter he has appeared comfortable around both males and females, so any future canine companion would simply need to be assessed individually.

Because of his breed, a PPP licence is required - but don’t let that put you off! We’re happy to support you through the process. At this stage of Lolo’s life, what matters most is giving him back the companionship, security and warmth he once knew. He has already experienced what it means to belong to someone, and it would be a beautiful thing to see him leave the shelter behind and once again have a bed, a family and a person beside him. Even if Lolo only has a few years left, it would mean the world to him to spend them surrounded by the peace and love of a home.
